1. What's the difference between ChecksNet and all other check/draft software? It does more of what YOU want, faster and cheaper. ChecksNet is a 100% "stand-alone" package. One competitor (Versacheck) requires that you own/buy Microsoft Word BEFORE you can use their software. Others only work on certain computer systems, only make drafts, lack layout features or only work with certain accounting packages.
2. Are drafts legal? Bank drafts are 100% legal. All you need is permission from a person who signs on that account. It can be verbal or written. Best way is someone faxing their check to you. You can also record permission on your answer machine or voicemail. You don't sign bank drafts. ChecksNet imprints This draft pre-authorized by your accountholder on the signature line. This complies with current FTC Regulation 16 CFR 310. You deposit drafts just like checks. Simply endorse the back, and put other people's money in your bank NOW! No waiting, no merchant fees, no transaction fees, no additional fees of any kind. FACT: The Federal Reserve System recommends bank drafts to service the 70 Million plus Americans who don't have credit cards.
3. ChecksNet eliminates magnetic ink? ChecksNet software includes genuine MICR type to create account & bank codes. You enter normal numbers on your keyboard, it converts them to MICR and places codes in the required location on checks or drafts.
4. What kind of paper can I use to print checks or drafts? Don't use plain paper (we tried it). It was rejected by merchants, the post office, and some banks. It lacks perforations, colored background, and micro-wording. We supply Chex Forms to eliminate these problems and guarantee exact alignment of the MICR codes. Chex Forms are available in blue, green, magenta, beige, gray and other backgrounds. Some have our exclusive STUB feature. Sheets make 8 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" high (business-size) checks or 2-7/8"x6" wallet-size checks
5. Where do I get Chex Forms? You get 99 FREE with the software kit. It's an assortment of Chex Forms to create your first 99 checks and/or drafts inside the software box. More Chex Forms are available by FedEx, using the order form inside the box. Chex Forms range in price from 2.5 each to 12 each, depending on the design & quantity you order. To get our lowest price, order 3,000 Blue, Green, Magenta, or Beige business-size forms for only $74.25/pack. This equals 2.5 a check cost to you. You can order 500 or 1000 of each color if you prefer (as long as total is 3000). Most people start with 1 or 2 packs of Blue or Green business-size when they buy the software. This saves you $9.00 shipping charges if you order forms later. Intuit (Quicken & QuickBooks) currently charges $47.95 + 7.50 for 6 day delivery of 250 checks. This equals 22 a check for pre-printed checks from Quicken. Microsoft charges up to 37 cents each for their checks to use with their Money software. So, at 2.5 a check, you save a fortune with ChecksNet. Note: We only sell Chex Forms to registered owners of our software.
6. How does the software make checks or drafts? The screen looks like a blank check (see it on our DEMO page). Simply type in name and bank information. Click SAVE. This puts the information in your database. Highlight that account and click PRINT. It's that simple. Note: If you have ChecksNet 4.0 Pro and use the website form we supply, no typing is required...just click and print your drafts.
7. Will ChecksNet work with MY accounting software? ChecksNet works with ANY accounting software that uses letter-size sheets of checks. ChecksNet also let you feed single checks through most printers in the landscape (sideways) mode. You can also make 1-per-page checks in the top, center or bottom 1/3 of the page. These are called voucher checks. With ChecksNet Pro version you can use the "Fast Check" mode to make complete checks instantly. ChecksNet Pro can even sign for you (by importing a signature in graphic formats). ChecksNet doesn't keep your balance or do accounting (maybe in future versions). But the pro version does generate Quick Reports that can tell you how many checks you've made or the dollar total of bank drafts you printed. If you're using software like Quicken, QuickBooks or others to pay your bills, you run the paper through your printer a second time to complete the PAY TO and dollar amount on the check.
